Christmas

Being our first Christmas as a married couple we decided to sleep over on a air mattress at my parents house on Christmas eve to avoid waking up early and driving over. I was extra excited this year because my little brother was getting a car and he had NO IDEA.  He was basically going into depression thinking it wasn't going to happen, and he was going to have to take the money out of his mission fund to pay for one.  Little did he know he was getting a Mercedes sports car nearly in perfect condition.

Logan was also very surprised with his first gun my dad bout for him.

My favorite gift would have to be my juicer.  I have been LOVING it.

We had a busy rest of the day with both of Logan's parents.  Zuzu got to meet Logan's brothers new puppy Sulley.  They loved each other!

First Christmas Card and Zu

First Christmas card.  I wasn't planning on doing one of these till we had kids, but considering we have this cute little puppy, and it is our first Christmas being married I decided why not.

Zuzu has been so fun! I just love her so much.  This is her getting her teeth brushed, she loves it.

I had to take Zu to get shots this week.  It was a little traumatic, especially the nose spray that they do.  At least she was a good cuddler that day.

Logan and I always joke that she is part bunny.  She does this little hop whenever she runs, and her ears are getting so big and floppy! It is the cutest thing!

Zu LOVES going for rides in the car.  She has turned into a great errand buddy.

My Baby Zuzu

I have been DYING to get a little dog. I have always been a huge dog person.  Zoey, our family dog used to fill the dog hole in my heart... Then I got married, and moved out, and she has never forgiven me.  Now when I am at my parents house she basically will not even acknowledge I am there.

Logan and I recently decided to move in to Logan dad's basement apartment to save more money, and get away from the creepy people that lived there.

Sooo I could finally get my puppy!  Logan and I had talked about it a little bit, but not seriously.  Logan never had a dog growing up, and he just didn't understand the man's best friend thing.

Well... Friday night I took a trip to Animal Ark with my brother so he could buy cockroaches for his bearded dragon.  First thing when we walked in I saw these 3 little white puppy's in  a giant fish tank like cage.  One of them ran up to me, looked me in the eyes, and put her little paw up to the glass.  I was sold. This puppy needs me! Without even thinking about it I grabbed a worker and before I new it I was signing off on a non-refundable pup.

Logan got home, I explained what happened, and I think he really likes little Zu.

He said it's like an unexpected pregnancy, he didn't wan it but now he is glad it happened ;)

HALLOWEEN

This year we had a little get together at Sammy's house.  We are at a weird age where we are too old to Trick or Treat, and us married people don't enjoy those UVU dance parties like we use to..

We just snacked, and talked and played mafia.  It was so fun though! I love all of my friends.

I was Stevie Nicks this year,  Logan showed up after work in MY booty shorts, and was a "sexy cowboy" :)"

Camping at the Lake House.

The Lake House, as we call it, is property down by Utah lake that Logan's dad keeps cows on.  I have always liked it down there.  It's not far from home, but at the same time makes you feel like you are. There is a hill there on the property that became our favorite spot to have fires over the summer.  We decided it would be perfect for a little camp out this weekend.

Aaron Carter Concert.

Me, Mads, and Sammy decided to fulfill one of our childhood dreams and see Aaron Carter!

After sitting through 4 hours of PAINFUL openers Aaron came out! Apparently he is a rapper now, with scantily clad  little back up dancers, that he spanks, and probably gets freaky with after every show.  Lets just say 26 year old Aaron Carter is much different then the Aaron Carter I remember watching on Lizzy McGuire.
He must have noticed everyone's pigtails, and t-shirts of little Aaron on them, because he warned us first thing that he had grown up, and had some new stuff he was going to play, BOO.
The highlights of the night was when Aaron sang Aarons Party and I Want Candy.
During I Want Candy he called about 12 people on stage that new the lyrics to sing along.  Maddie got picked to go on stage! and she nailed the words when it was her turn.  We just have to remember if this would have happened 10 years ago life would have been made!

6 Months

Monday night we celebrated  6 months of marriage!  I can not believe it has been this long, seems like just yesterday we were driving down to Vegas to tie the knot.

On our very first official date we went to the Sundance lift.  I had asked Logan to Sadies Junior year, and he didn't want our "first date" to be one I was technically taking him on.  So after a high school football game sometime in August, me and him headed up there for our very first date.  It has kinda been a tradition ever since.

Well now we have March 8th so sadly it is time to forgo the August anniversary.. :(
At least you get to celebrate a 6 monther during your first year of marriage right?

We played hookie from work half the day, and hung out at home, talked about life, and how maybe I want to go back to school.
Then we went out to Pizzeria 712 for dinner, and Logan gave me a Polar watch that I have been dying for.

Well school is back in session!
Logan survived his first week of working 35+ hours a week, and taking 18 credits..  No big deal.

I love that he loves what he does.  It's the funnest, watching him get excited when he makes a  program.  And it is extra fun now that he is applying for internships, and might finally start making money doing what he loves.

I envy him for finding what he loves.

I went to hair school, and I do like doing hair.
I like the beauty supply store discount, I like the extra cash, and I like keeping up with friends that I otherwise probably wouldn't, and I like making people pretty, but I don't LOVE it. And that's fine.  I'm still glad I can do it.

I don't LOVE my job either.  I mean it's great I work with my mom and one of my best friends.  We have weekends, and holidays off, great benefits, great boss, supper chill, but I wouldn't want to do it for the rest of my life. It just doesn't complete me, ya know?

I just wish I could find my passion too, so far no luck, but I am working on it.  I am going to find that thing that I am so good at, and so happy doing, that I will want to do it for the rest of my life.

So far Logan is that thing, I know that sounds cheesy but it's true. He completes me.

And this is what went on over Labor day weekend.

We had a fire at the lake, the boys let me tag along.

Bought a frisbee, and played with it every spare minute.

   Went disco skating

Last but not least had a surprise welcome home party for Sam who just got home from Russia.

Saturday, August 9, 2014

When we first got married Logan told me that if there was ever something I needed him to do, just put it on a To Do list.  He said, "My mom use to make lists for me, I am really good at doing my lists".  Sweet! I think I like this idea a little to much.  Although there is not a whole lot to do done around our little apartment, I usually find things..
"1.  Babe please learn how to was dishes, if the bowl still smells like Ramen Noodles it is probably not clean :)". (We have no dish washer).
"2.  Please take in the Washer, the spin cycle only works half of the time".

Side note...

Logan knows I have been DYING for a new blender.  One I can make yummy green smoothies, and protein shakes in.

Today when I got home from work not only was the washer fixed, but when I went to switch the clothes guess what I found...

Awww. I think I will keep him.

Saturday, August 2, 2014

I am kinda a constant stress case.  I have to be busy all of the time, if I am not busy I like to make myself think I am.   Logan will ask me what the worry is?... and I go on... "Well I have to go the the gym, and the beauty supply store before they close, then I have to run to Target, we are out of protein bars, then I have to do my nails they are so bad right now!"  He is good at telling me "BABE you don't HAVE to do any of those things." ohhh.
Logan works late on Friday, and Saturday night.  I work a 8-5 job so this gives me a lot of free time.

These kept me busy last weekend..
I failed at taking a before picture, but our kitchen table was this a dark wood color that was covered in scratches, and heat marks.  I LOVE how it turned out.

I also whipped together this shadow box.  We have lots of funny notes, and such from when we first started dating.  I'm surprised I still have them honestly.. 5 years, and about 20 break ups later.  I love them so much though I had to do something with them.

 POWELL

Every year Logan's family plans a big Lake Powell trip.  Lucky for me I get to tag along.  Last year was my first Lake Powell experience.  Literally as we were leaving I got an overwhelming sense of ickiness, but convinced myself it would pass.  I ended up having a nasty case of strep that entire week.  P.S. do no get sick at Lake Powell.  You will wait hours to see a Dr. and then find out the closest pharmacy in 3 hours away. Cool, ya that was a fun trip.  Rotting in the heat with pus pockets, forcing myself to have fun, and hike.  No.

This year was an entirely new experience.  We were spoiled this year with a fancy new house boat, AND Logan and I got our very own room! (this is a big deal when you are sharing a house boat with 30 other people).

We hiked the sand dunes, hiked Connies crack, and the Moki steps. Tubed, tanned, ate, slept, fished, and went on wave runner rides to our "secret spot".  All while feeling in ship shape.

Good times.

Until next time Lake Powell!

I feel like we have literally been gone every other weekend, it's great.  We never turn down an excuse to get out of town for a few days.  This last weekend it was Vegas.  Reason for going was a Christensen family reunion.  I love road trips, because I love listening to (my) music for 5 hours strait, and I love riding in the car.  We headed down Friday afternoon.  Went to Circus Circus and that is draining... So We hit the hay early and took full advantage of those Hotel room black out curtains the next morning.  Saturday we hit it hard with laying out by the pool, shopping, going to body worlds, RA sushi, bowling, and a family lunch.  If you have never been to Body worlds I highly recommend it.  It is unreal.  But weirdly pornographic, in a shriveled up, dead kind of way.

BEAR LAKE

Chelsey, one of my good friends, also dating one of Logan's best friends, got us all hooked up with a free cabin at bear lake last weekend.  I thrive off of time when we all get together like this.  Lets just say high school was my glory days, I seriously miss it.  Never again in life will you have so many friends, and so much fun stuff to do with them, before everyone's lives get too busy.  I also fell in love with Logan in high school, and he was a rebel, he still is. Sneaking out to have sleep overs, or sluffing class to make out in his truck bed at Squaw peak, just isn't as fun as it was back then, when you had to be sneaky about it.

Last weekend was kinda a step back to the good old days.

Logan had to work most of the weekend, so he had to meet up with us later.  I made the 3 hour drive with Sammy, Sy, and Weston.  We played classic road trip games, jammed to all of our classic songs, and we only got lost once.

The lake was so pretty, and blue I couldn't believe it.

And of course here are a few camp fire pics..
