Back Yard Projects

So when we bought our house the backyard was not landscaped.  It was actually kind of a huge mess.  The fence was covered in grape vines which were filled with spiders, and there was no grass, just lots of weeds and trash trees.

We rented an Excavator, tore our all of the weeds, vines, and trees and sprayed.  We weren't planning on doing anything with the yard until spring but the dirt from the back yard seemed to get everywhere and the dogs needed a back yard so we decided to keep going.

Here is the after

So we decided to build a retaining wall at the back of the property for a garden area, and maybe get some bees to put up there too. It was a huge process but I LOVE how it turned out.
First we had to dig a trench and pour gravel into it for drainage.  Then we leveled out the ground and placed wood down in the trench that the framing would be screwed into later.  We built the frames painted pressure treated plywood with tar, and screwed everything together. Then we put in the dead men, and sleepers, and then we covered the front in pickets and water proofed everything.

Then Logan put a sprinkling system in the back yard, and we ordered sod!

I am so happy with our new back yard, and the puppies LOVE it.  Shoutout to Logan for knowing how to do EVERYTHING, and for working so hard on it.

We bought a house!
We have been looking at houses basically since we got married over 2 years ago.  The housing market is insane, and we weren't having any luck, so we ended up apartment hopping for a few years.  We were finally in an apartment that we loved but it was $1150 for a one bedroom, and we just left like we were throwing our money away.
I was doing my daily Zillow check when I saw our future house.  It was probably the most stressful 2 months of my life but everything fell into place, and 1 month later we were moving in.

Here our some pictures of my favorite parts of the house :)
